Martham Remembers ....

On Friday 10th November Martham Academy came together to take part in our school Remembrance Service. The children filed into the hall and each planted a poppy in our sand trays at the front in order to create our own version of 'Flanders Fields'. Once everyone had arrived the assembly began, many parts led by the Year 6 Senior Pupils. All the children and staff took part in the 2 minutes silence impeccably. We were lucky enough to welcome Mr Mules to our gathering who spoke to us all about the meaning behind holding a 2 minute silence. We thank Mr Mules for joining us. After the assembly, Mrs Gillespie and our Head Boy Thomas and Head Girl Leah headed over to St. Mary's Church, Martham to lay our wreath on the monument in the churchyard.
